HeadNorth created the Recover Program to support the immediate physical and psychological transitional needs of the individual and family following the spinal cord injury. Essential resources, Peer Support and Response ONE financial assistance are provided during the acute inpatient recovery phase.
Response ONE Grant
Along with other resources and support, the Response ONE grant can be used, but is not limited to, the purchase of food, lodging, transportation and access to essential resources up to $1000. Grants are awarded to legal resident of greater San Diego County within 60 days of injury.

Nine year old Jordyn was in the back seat of her parents car when a car accident thrust her forward resulting in a fracture of her spine at the T4/5 level. HeadNorth provided Jordyn’s family a Response ONE grant to assist with immediate financial needs.

Ryan fell snowboarding shattering his C7 vertebrae resulting in quadriplegia. With immediate financial assistance from HeadNorth’s Response ONE grant, Ryan was able to transition to his new life. He now helps others in the same situation.
